Sample Schedule (program schedule may vary based on school dismissal times and community needs)
2:15 to 3:00: Arrival, Snack, Sharing Circle
3:00 to 4:00: Project-Based Learning Classes
4:00 to 4:45: Enrichment Classes
4:45 to 5:30: Homework Support, Interest Centers and Pick Up
Each day your child decompresses from school with a healthy snack and time to explore their interests. One day they might spend time drawing in the art area while another day they might feel like reading a book or magazine. Or perhaps they are in the mood for drama and want to dress up in costumes. If building is more their style, they can create a Lego house, a block city or something else from their imagination.
Kids learn the most – and have the most fun – while working on a project, in collaboration with their friends. Your child chooses a project to work on for 10 weeks and sees it through to the finish. For example, our kids create and open their very own ice cream shop – everything from planning, to hiring, buying supplies and designing the space. And then we invite our families to come enjoy a scoop (or three) at our ice cream parlor!
Throughout the school year we offer 10-week enrichment classes taught by community experts, such as theatre, cooking, art, STEM, and sports. By self-selecting classes in their areas of interest, kids explore interests and possibly find their new passion, hobby, or even future career.
We know you want your child to be successful in groups, teams, school and in life. But it takes more than just physical and cognitive skills to get to this level. Research shows – as well as our 35 years of hands-on experience – that successful kids and adults need social-emotional skills, such as self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, positive relationship building, and good decision-making. Throughout the afternoon, your child will participate in fun and hands-on activities that help them become the best version of themselves.
Everything we do, we keep your child’s future health and wellbeing at the core – healthy snacks, mindfulness exercises, discussions about healthy choices and physical exercise. Many of our enrichment classes have a health and wellness focus – cooking healthy meals, playing a new sport or learning dance moves. Because we know your kids have been sitting still at day, we start and end our programs with a chance to get the wiggles out by moving and playing.
