Unity Day 2021

Children at the Brown School in Peabody read the book “Henry and the Bully” by Nancy Carlson and discussed what bullying looks like, feels like, and sounds like. Children then participated in an activity where they were asked to think about a time where they had something mean said to them. Then, they were prompted to crumple a piece of paper.

The children then discussed how the wrinkles in the paper were hard to get out and how saying mean things to someone, is similar because you cannot take back the things you say. At the end of the activity children made “kindness catchers” which gave ideas on how to participate in a kind act per day! https://www.pacer.org/bullying/nbpm/unity-day.asp

Musical Playground

Thank you to our amazing partner, Boston Landmark Orchestra, for bringing your Musical Playground to FKO Everett! What an incredible opportunity it was for the children to learn from professional musicians how to play real instruments of the orchestra.
