FKO children from the Welch School in Peabody learned how by conducting an experiment! Children compared how it felt to dip their bare hand in ice water, vs. how it felt with their hand in a plastic glove covered in shortening and wrapped it in plastic! All of the children made the connection between blubber and the added protection on their hand. What an awesome STEM activity, FKO staff!
