To show their appreciation to their bus driver, kindergartners at FKO’s Winthrop program put their building skills to work making a recyclable school bus complete with FKO’s heartprint logo.We are so appreciative of our awesome bus driver Jimmy Nigro and the ongoing support from Healy Bus despite the shortage during the pandemic.

Yesterday, FKO children at Youth In Motion in Revere…

Yesterday, FKO children at Youth In Motion in #Revere learned about the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. while engineering a podium to hold up his figurine. Children got creative using popsicle sticks, play-doh, tape and cardboard! That’s what we call, “making learning fun!”

“Snow” Much Fun in Peabody!

FKO children from The Carroll School in Peabody had a blast tubing a few days after the most recent snow storm. Many children shared that tubing outside of their school with FKO staff was the absolute highlight of their week! Peabody District Director, Trish Namey, tested out the hills with her staff Sunday night to make sure it was safe before the children got their turn!

A full day of teamwork and fun in Chelsea!

At the end of last week, FKO children participated in an exciting team-building activity with Project Adventure staff and had a blast playing various types of games with their peers. Throughout the activities, children fostered collaboration and built trust by listening, working together, and effectively communicating. It was amazing to overhear the children being supportive and compassionate to each other, which in turn created a positive place for them to learn, grow and have fun!

How do marine mammals keep warm in the winter?

FKO children from the Welch School in Peabody learned how by conducting an experiment! Children compared how it felt to dip their bare hand in ice water, vs. how it felt with their hand in a plastic glove covered in shortening and wrapped it in plastic!
