BOSTnet
BOSTnet was founded in 1987, as Parents United for Child
Care (PUCC), with a mission to expand access to quality,
affordable child-care in Massachusetts. Our mission is driven by
a vision of a city and state where all families have access to a
rich network of OST opportunities that challenge, reward and
inspire children and youth. We understand that children learn in
multiple ways and in multiple environments and believe that
learning is a collective community value and responsibility. For
more than twenty years, BOSTnet has worked to strengthen the OST
field through innovative research, leadership, quality
improvement initiatives and advocacy. BOSTnet continues to
engage a broad range of stakeholders, including families,
providers, funders and policymakers, to find real solutions that
serve the field.
Cambridge
Health Alliance
The
Cambridge Health Alliance is an academic public health
system that is helping people live better lives. Based in
Cambridge, Somerville, and Boston’s metro-north region,
the Cambridge Health Alliance provides
patient care, education, and outreach in hospitals, health
centers, schools, community centers, and through some very
special programs, right in people’s homes.
CASTLES
Caring Alumni Supporting the Learning and
Enrichment of Students (CASTLES) was created when
Camille Garro of the Revere High School Class of ’72 decided to
bring a group of her friends together and search for ways to
give back to the city and schools they had grown up in. They
decided to focus on the tremendous need for afterschool care for
families who cannot afford it. Due to her efforts, the
first year they raised $80,000 to fund scholarships for
afterschool programs for the children of Revere.
This year’s event was another great success. Despite the
current economic difficulties they were able to raise close to
$60,000.
Children's
Investment Fund
Children’s Investment Fund is dedicated to help non-profit
organizations develop high-quality spaces for early learning and
youth development in Massachusetts. Children’s Investment Fund
believes that all children need to learn in physical
environments designed to support their growth.
Department
of Early Education and Care
The mission of the Department of Early
Education and Care reaches beyond the daily tasks and positions
the state to make progress toward two critical goals: 1. to
develop a statewide system of professional development for the
early education and care and out-of-school-time workforce, a
critical element to improving the quality of care provided to
families in the Commonwealth; and 2. to oversee the creation of
a groundbreaking program of voluntary, universally accessible,
high-quality early childhood education for all preschool-aged
children in the Commonwealth.
Heritage Salem Five Charitable Foundation
The Heritage Grant Program is funded through the Heritage Salem
Five Charitable Foundation. To honor the charitable giving
legacy of the Heritage Co-operative Bank, the Heritage Salem
Five Charitable Foundation was established as part of the merger
agreement with Salem Five. The Heritage Grant Program will award
grants with a minimum value of $5,000, to non-profit
organizations that support education, health and human services,
youth programs, affordable housing, and community development
Joint Committee for Children's Health Care in Everett
The Joint Committee for Children's Health
Care in Everett (JCCHCE) firmly believes in the right of
Everett's children to have available to them appropriate health
care and knowledge to enable them to become health and
productive members of the community. A not-for-profit
corporation, the JCCHCE is dedicated to advocating for universal
access to quality, comprehensive health care for all the
children of Everett, and in promoting their optimal health and
well being.
The Lenny
Zakim Fund
The mission of The Lenny Zakim Fund is to
identify, listen to, support and connect grassroots community
organizations and programs operating "below the radar screen" of
large charitable groups and government grants. The Lenny Zakim
Fund provides assistance to those who demonstrate the will and
potential to make a difference, but lack the necessary
resources.
Massachusetts 21st Century Community Learning Centers
The Massachusetts 21st Century Community
Learning Centers program
supports the creation of community learning centers that provide
academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for
children, particularly students who attend high-poverty and
low-performing schools. The program helps students meet state
and local student standards in core academic subjects, such as
reading and math; offers students a broad array of enrichment
activities that can complement their regular academic programs;
and offers literacy and other educational services to the
families of participating children.
Massachusetts Afterschool Partnership
Established in 2003, MAP is
the only statewide 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in
Massachusetts dedicated to expanding afterschool and extended
learning opportunities for school-age children, youth, families
and communities. MAP works to improve the
lives of young people through statewide policy development,
local grassroots networks, education and advocacy, and strategic
public-private partnerships. MAP provides resources for programs
and families statewide including; information and technical
assistance, networking, advocacy support, and peer-to-peer
support.
Massachusetts Afterschool and Out of School Time Grant
Students and youth benefit from a variety of supports that can
lead to their success in school and in other aspects of their
lives. Through this quality grant program, the Department of
Elementary and Secondary Education, in collaboration with the
Department of Early Education and Care, seeks to provide
students in grades K-12 with access to high quality after-school
and out-of-school time programs and services that meet the needs
of the student, the family, and the community.
Massachusetts
Association of Early Education and Care
MADCA
is a statewide advocacy group of programs providing early
education and school age services. The association concentrates
on positively impacting funding from the Executive and
Legislative branch. MADCA has a demonstrated record of success
addressing issues with the Department of Early Education and
Care.
Massachusetts Audubon - Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary
Ipswich River, Mass Audubon’s largest sanctuary, offers more
than 10 miles of interconnecting trails that invite you to
explore the forests, meadows, and wetlands.
Our experienced educators specialize in providing
"hands-on/minds-on" interactive learning experiences that
encourage investigation of the natural world. Our programs
explore the varied habitats of Massachusetts and help enrich an
understanding of human interrelationships with the environment.
The Meridian Charitable Foundation, Inc.
The Meridian Charitable Foundation was established in 1997
by East Boston Savings Bank to provide funding to support
charitable causes and community development activities.
Today's
Girls...Tomorrow's Leaders
Today's Girl's...Tomorrow's Leaders (TGTL) seeks to address
inequalities that create barriers for girls, and to meet new
challenges to girls’ health and well-being.
Through Today’s Girls…Tomorrow’s Leaders, UWMBMV builds
the capacity of programs to meet the unique needs of girls for
positive development by: creating
mentoring relationships and nurturing environments that focus on
helping girls succeed, delivering
effective approaches to programming for girls, in both
girl-specific and co-educational settings,
and expanding outreach and access to girl-serving
programs.
National Institute of Out-of-School Time
The mission of the National Institute
of Out-of-School Time is to ensure that all children,
youth, and families have access to high quality programs,
activities, and opportunities during non-school hours. NIOST
believes that these experiences are essential to the healthy
development of children and youth, who then can become effective
and capable members of society.
Revere
Afterschool Partnership
The Revere Afterschool Partnership,
led by Revere Mayor Thomas Ambrosino, is a coalition of the
city, the Revere public schools, afterschool and out of
school time community based providers, health care community,
parks and recreation office, business community and other
invested partners. The partnership efforts have led to a clear
systems change and increase in resources for the city’s
children.
United Way of
Mass Bay and Merrimack Valley:
Built on the model that greater goals can be reached
through joint efforts than alone, United Way’s mission is to
make the Massachusetts Bay and
Merrimack Valley region the best place for children in
the country. United Way knows that the best way to improve the
future for our children is to strengthen the financial security
of their parents today and to ensure that kids are getting the
nurturing support and educational opportunities that will
prepare them for adulthood.
Y It Matters:
The purpose of "Y It Matters" is to provide a
variety of after-school activities to support the educational,
emotional, health and fitness needs of the youth of Peabody.
As a group, the Peabody/Lynnfield YMCA, The Peabody Youth
Foundation, The Peabody Rotary Club, The Peabody Chamber of
Commerce, and the Peabody City Council have raised sufficient
funds to support tuitions for students to attend For Kids Only
Afterschool and the Peabody/Lynnfield YMCA.
